World Trade Centre

There's quite a number of good movies. But, you seldom get a powerful movie. And World Trade Centre is one of those.

I was expecting a lot from this movie and I promised myself must not give it a miss. Well, it really lived up to my expectations. The movie captivated me and I dropped my tears quite a number of times.=)

As the director puts it, it's a movie about "ordinary people with simple lives". The movie is based on the true story of Will Jimeno and Jack McLoughlin—two Port Authority policemen who were among the first responders to the 9/11 disaster, and were pinned under slabs of concrete some 20 feet underground. For the next few hours spent in the claustrophobic space, they kept each other alive by talking about families etc.

There were so few people who made it out of the thousands who were trapped, which 300+ were responders. Only twenty of them. Will and Jack were the 18^th and 19^th. They were actually first found by Dave, former Marine who put on his old uniform and wriggled his way through emergency workers to answer his calling from God...despite everyone else was fearing that another building might collapse.

WTC also highlighted the families and friends. How they grappled with the sudden turmoil, how to comfort the kids in spite of not knowing what's happening to the their loved ones, how they were let down the wrong news...

It's a story of courage, love and faith. A nice one, in fact.

P/S: I'm thinking of buying the original DVD when it's out. Hehe. Worth it. ^_^
